I appeal my opinion in the areas I'm responsible for, but when the moment comes when I have to listen to my team members and leave them or be persuaded, when someone says something convincing, I say, "Oh, good!" and move on well. It goes over better than I thought. I want to give a lot of freedom. While running the team, rather than blindly presenting my opinions, I am trying to listen to the good opinions of the team members and move in a good direction together if possible. After becoming a team leader, I also found out that I had thinner ears than I thought. I'm responsible for what I'm responsible for, but I'd like to say that it's an open mind to give employees a chance and challenge in areas that they can do enough.
Can you introduce MAMA CASAR's team in more detail?
Jewelry designers who design jewelry in MAMA CASAR, MDs who think and implement these products, marketing officials who advertise them to approach consumers familiarly, and logistics teams (production management/FOMs) that inspect factory-produced products and deliver them to consumers just before they go. There are 'offline' and various management points here, and I am currently operating as a team leader of all parts. However, I don't hate the busy passage of time after spending such a hectic day. I try to enjoy all the processes of bringing ideas to try something new, suggesting them to me, and working together, small but regular things that happen to maintain the brand, and solving big and small problems together.
As a part leader and team leader, if you do so many things together, the relationship with the crew will be important, so the relationship may also feel like work.
Public and private matters are certain at work. If this is my principle, it is my principle and standard. However, when I am not working or after work, I try to be friendly like my local sister. I'm matching my work style with my team members in this way. I don't know how the team members will feel, but (smile) I always have a mind to work like a professional, not like an amateur, and I think this is the attitude that arose from this heart.
Any memorable episode about running a brand?
Sometimes, whenever I use public transportation, when I see a person wearing a MAMA CASAR jewelry, I feel so happy that I want to say hello. It's trivial, but this happiness is also quite great. On the contrary, however, it is not easy to experience the time to think deeply every time a new product is released. This is because even though the jewelry design of the new product has been decided, the concern begins from then on how to show it to consumers. Usually, brands use outsourcing to shoot new product pictorials, but the MAMA CASAR team is producing results by thinking about how to express MAMA CASAR as much as possible.

MAMA CASAR wanted to position the brand concept itself as a brand with a strong fashion tendency. It has set a goal to implement a unique brand identity that does not exist anywhere among domestic local brands and has continued until now. Therefore, I thought it would be nice to melt the appropriate trendy mood well into this brand identity every season and express MAMA CASAR's vitality well. So sometimes, even if Jewelry is a hard-to-see image cut, such an image is also used if it can show MAMA CASAR's brand mood well. This part is devoted a lot of time and energy to maintain quality in particular. What's the most memorable moment of MAMA CASAR's growth?
In the spring of 2020, last year, a specific celebrity wore a Mamakasar jewelry and posted it on SNS, which became a big issue. At that time, sales volume increased a lot, and it was not just good because sales volume increased, but it was good because it seemed to serve as an opportunity for more people to know Mamakasar than sales volume. It feels good to think about this because 1,000 people bought it a day, at least 10 times more than 1,000 people, knew and watched MAMA CASAR. In addition, when I entered the Gangnam branch of Shinsegae Department Store, I dreamed of launching the brand, but I was proud that something was recognized for its brand value, and I remember all the members happily prepared for the store.

Of course, in the end, how many orders have been placed and which products have been sold are also of great interest.(Laugh) Sometimes I have a lot of orders and have a happy worry. In that case, each part-timer gives up for a while and often helps with packing.
Do you do packing yourself? I can feel that they are trying not to miss even the small things that happen to the brand.
If the volume of orders increases rapidly and the daily shipment schedule is likely to be difficult, we all run together. There's also an insight at this time. What I feel while packing is that if you look at the order list of those who purchased the MAMA CASAR product, you can see roughly what kind of tastes they have, and I don't know the faces of individual consumers, but it's fun to draw their own tastes.
After opening a MAMA CASAR offline store or pop-up, they often go to the sales stand to help with the sales day themselves. At that time, when I talk to customers and listen to their own thoughts, and when I recommend a product, I remember the composition of the product I saw while packing and recommend it to them by applying the product composition. Stories that you hear in direct contact with customers are always new and helpful from the perspective of running. I always ask questions to those who come to MAMA CASAR offline stores. Whether you liked the design or the price. There are also many unpredictable contents because each person has different answers. Of course, it cannot contain everyone's opinions, but I tend to try from time to time to listen to as many people as possible. Anyway, it's good to have more orders.(laughs)
What kind of people usually look for MAMA CASAR in offline stores?
By making MAMA CASAR, I wanted to create a jewelry brand that anyone in their teens to 60s and older can enjoy regardless of age, but I'm always amazed that I meet these people when I go to offline pop-up stores. What I feel face-to-face with customers is that I need to know from one to ten so that I can actually grasp what consumers need, trends, and atmosphere, and apply them to brand operation. Therefore, it is important to listen to the live concerns of customers with this product. Perhaps that's why, no matter how busy you are, you tend to go to "weekend" or "day" and try to be together.
How did you join the visual team that you're working for?
At first, I started as a jewelry designer and started my career as a design. He has gained various experiences throughout his 20s by launching overseas brands, making jewelry himself, and running sales. After building a career of about 10 years from the age of 24, I launched Mamakasar. Personally, I think I need to know a lot to launch a brand, so I conclusively completed the first jewelry brand training course at the Wolgok Jewelry Industry Research Institute, and I still meet with the researchers I learned from that time and have a good influence.
It's a career that's really focused on jewelry. Did the visual contact come from Wolgok Jewelry Research Institute?
It was about three years ago when I was working so busy. The Wolgok Jewelry Foundation, a jewelry research institution, contacted me. IT-related start-ups run jewelry-related businesses (such as gift recommendation, lip learning, etc.), and were offered a position to provide professional advice and carry out projects for an hour a week, and with the current visual and CEO Hue Seaile. That led me to come so far.
It must have been an unexpected start. I think we made a good impression on each other in the first project we worked together.
When I first received the offer, I thought a lot about it for a month. This is because if you look at the existing jewelry brands, there are already too many brands and companies run by too competent and competent people. However, it is difficult to get out of this framework if the company is large and large, and the framework that I have felt in the jewelry industry for more than 10 years. Since I experienced the existence of tradition and wanted to break this framework, I wanted to challenge this area in startups. What I wanted to see out of the existing framework.

After working on jewelry for more than a decade, I thought a lot, "Why isn't there a jewelry brand like this?" I wanted to create a brand with my worries, and I thought I could create a new one if I went with the key. Previously, the company treated me well, and I was satisfied and working with an important job, but I joined the visual team because I wanted to start a new project. Since joining in March, the "MAMA CASAR Brand Launch Party" has been held in August and has been running wild so far.
Both the brand MAMA CASAR and the service Amons operated by a company called Visual are different.
The only thing in common between Amons and MAMA CASAR is that it is Jewelry. Other than that, it is a brand and service that expresses jewelry in different ways. It operates Mamakasar and refers to various data and cases that occur on a platform called Almonds whenever necessary. Almonds is a service in which tens of thousands of users access it a day, focusing on their jewelry tastes according to trends, and based on these choices and purchasing behavior patterns, several MDs introduce new products and create jewelry trends. How long has it been since you joined the MAMA CASAR team?
It has been two years in MAMA CASAR. MD is a job that requires you to say, think, and move your hands mechanically without thinking. I think that's why we're doing it so far.

In this era of Covid-19, I think the position of online MD is very important. If I were to talk about when I first came here two years ago.
He joined the company just before the MAMA CASAR online channel began to operate in earnest and played a role in setting it up early. It was when about three small businesses were operating, including their own malls. He joined the company in November, entered the store, and set up, and began expanding the online mall in earnest in January of the following year. At the same time as setting up an online mall in the early days, I heard that various things were done together.
When I first entered the company, there were not many people. Often, when the number of orders increased, one or two people could not handle it, so when packing or shipments increased rapidly, they stopped what they were doing and were actively put into packing. Originally, I was an MD for the online mall, but I don't think I participated a lot from beginning to end. For example, not only the role of selling products as MD, but also when we came up with ideas or talked together during the product planning stage, and it felt like we were growing in that we could witness the entire process closely and experience even minor things. Participating in all such processes leads to affection for the brand and pride. Above all, I think I am more greedy for sales as an MD.

If sales come out well, I've never felt as good as that day. On the day when sales came out well, the moment you share sales on the company's channel and hit the entertainment, you feel thrilled. However, on days when sales are not high, no one is giving it to me, but I feel uncomfortable for no reason.(Laughs) It could be occupational disease.
Can you tell us about MD's daily routine and daily routine? I think those who are aspiring MDs will be curious.
When you go to work, you will be the first to collect orders for Mamakasar's online operating channel and then check sales by date. In the case of sales, sales to the entire Mamakasar brand are checked, and sales to the online and offline or global brands are collected and shared throughout the team. During the week, you will have time to analyze which product and which collection was exhausted on which channel and share it with your team members. And since it is an MD, the main routine task is to plan promotions accordingly, monitor what events other brands are holding, and contact MDs to communicate to fix a better account.
It seems that they are really active in communication with MDs working in each mall. How do you usually communicate?
After completing the most important and daily work, I work on promotions. First, suggestions come, suggestions come. There are also joint exhibitions with other brands and solo exhibitions of MAMA CASAR. Set the necessary topics or prices for each composition and discuss them with the team leader to decide. Each mall has a set of products that are popular according to its characteristics, and there are some things to consider for each season. You should also think about which account you are exposed to and which brand you are exposed with. These points are carried out through communication. It can be said that design and marketing proceed after these basic things are set.

The key is to know how to set the margin rate, what brand it is exposed to, and what account it is exposed to when conducting the event, and to set the right price and product.
As an MD, it seems that a wide variety of abilities and senses are needed to perform their duties. What kind of person do you want to be if you have a new colleague?
Fast hands are one of the most important things. Also, since it is a job that touches prices, it is most important to keep the schedule well and make no mistakes. You should also be able to communicate well and convey your opinions convincingly. After listing it, there are so many things you have to do well.
In fact, I have been interested in clothes since high school. At that time, I thought I would be a superstar at my current age. Perhaps that's why I was interested in the job of a stylist. With that thought, I majored in college, and after a short experience as a styling intern in a magazine advertisement, I started AMD of a large company. After that, he joined the company as an MD of a large general mall, a time when he met his first career as an MD. Since it was in the early days of MD, AMD was the correct position name, and AMD was also MD, which was a guide to experiences that could not be easily done at the time. It's been seven years since I started MD. Jewelry is a small but intensive item with completeness, so even one scratch feels large. There is no special secret. It is important to look and look and check so that it looks flawless to anyone.

As a jewelry designer, the first collection I worked on was "Record". The record collection has a wide range of styles, from formal look setup suits to casual T-shirts and sporty looks, and there are many products that can be matched in a variety of ways. The necklace I wore today can be layered with two products with different designs to give points that are not boring, but when wearing a single item, it is an attractive item that can give a very different feeling than when layered. These days, there are a lot of mix-match, so I melted that part a lot in this collection.

Before that, I worked for a large jewelry company and had various experiences such as MD in addition to jewelry design, but I had experience working together. At first, I mainly worked as a product planning MD. It can be said that it is the job of creating a brand.
Even before MAMA CASAR Record Line launched it, a celebrity was offered sponsorship and hurriedly prepared sponsorship. It was officially launched in September, and I remember that it was a time when I urgently prepared for the launch because the offer came in July. The situation in which a celebrity who was offered sponsorship at the time had to leave the country for an overseas pictorial shoot. So, I remember assembling, preparing, and urgently delivering sponsored jewelry in a taxi. Since the team leader was on a business trip at the time, he worked to ensure that sponsorship could be carried out smoothly by completing the product by talking and exchanging photos. I remember going to the factory from the headquarters to receive the product, assembling the product in a taxi, and urgently delivering it 30 minutes before departure. It was a proud experience that was so memorable that I cried when I saw a great pictorial as I suffered.
In the past, I was inspired by exhibitions, art works, and fashion trends, but as my career builds up, most of them seem to be inspired by unexpected places. Especially these days, I am trying to find inspiration in my daily life. In addition, Dolgo is trying to develop a brand concept or product design through a consumption trend that can know immediate reactions rather than fashion trends.
As a designer, I always feel like I'm challenging something new.
If you were to divide the "Classic Design & Trendy Design" jewelry design into these two categories, if you wanted a pretty and colorful design when you were young, you would now look for unique products even if you were wearable and ugly. These personal likes and dislikes naturally appear in the design of MAMA CASAR products.
If it is a unique product design, can you explain one of the current MAMA CASAR designs as an example?
In order to design unique products, as mentioned above, I try to get inspiration from everyday places. For example, the design of Tongs, a representative collection of MAMA CASAR, was inspired by Laundry Tongs in everyday life. Jewelry actually tends to not develop much decoration, so I was inspired by the tongs while thinking about connecting this part in a fun way.
I think the best seller was born from the clothespin.
Since it was released and loved a lot, it was a product that went through trial and error and eventually prepared and applied for a patent. There were so many fakes that I had to patent them, but at first, I was upset, but I felt that I was recognized as a product that consumers wanted, so I felt rather good.
I want to hear about the jewelry design team. How do you usually work together? The teamwork looks good.
Appropriate competition is okay, but I think too much competition rather hinders each other's growth and work efficiency. Each team continues to emphasize the fact that it is a "one team" while adjusting its strengths to contribute to the results within the team. Because it's my experience that I can produce good results and that it's good for me as a result.
MAMA CASAR, who is set to release the S/S Brilliant Collection in early April.
